I find that this is a great addition my dremel, especially for carving, i use it on my flex shaft so that i can change my bits out quickly. it doesn’t work with some of the attachments though which makes me a little sad because i still have to keep up with my collets
If you use a Dremel you have to have this.

I purchased this to replace the four collets on my Dremel Variable Speed Rotary Tool. No more fumbling with the collets every time I change bits with different size shanks. I would however suggest if you are removing or deburring heavy material to use the collets. This would avoid overtighting the chuck and possibly damaging it. I do clean the interior jaws with compressed air as fine dust can make it difficult to open and close.

This chuck should come with all Dremel purchases instead of all the collets. It’s so much easier to change tools and can use more different drill bit sizes. This same chuck sells for close to $20.00 at many retail stores.

This is a useful addition to any Rotary tool. It makes changing accessories a snap. That is especially true if you would normally have to change collets along with the accessory. And if you want to use a bit with a non-standard shaft size then you really need this.
Aside from adding my “this is a must have with a rotary tool” comment I wanted to point out that it works perfectly with the Dremel 1100-01 Stylus 5,000 to 25,000 RPM Variable Speed 7.2-Volt Lithium-Ion Cordless Rotary Tool with Docking Station (another best in breed product).
Too Small for serious model work

I bought this item thinking that it would solve my constant need to change collets. It may do that, but does not handle common size drill bit above 1/8″ dia. Sometimes you just need a little different size. If I could find a drill chuck with and 1/8″ shank that would allow larger drills, I’d be a lot happier. Anyone knows of an adapter, please let me know.
